The imbalance index calculation can be found on our website, or in our paper. Our index relies solely on the population information and the number of base stations of a given granule (division or grid). The population data we used is from Facebook's High Resolution Population Density Maps and Demographic Estimates. The BS data comes from the OpenCellId Project of Unwired Labs.
